Is Makeup Safe to Use During the Covid-19 Pandemic?
I recently read an interesting article on a topic that has certainly been on my mind and that many of you have likely thought about as well. It talks about whether or not using makeup is safe in these uncertain times and how we can avoid taking any unnecessary risks for ourselves and others.
The Center for Disease Control is now saying that Coronavirus does not spread easily from surfaces. Most of the transmission is airborne. There’s been a lot of talk and a lot of speculation about this. Still, we think that discretion is the better part of valor i.e. there’s no need to take unnecessary risks.
It is worth noting that there is no advice saying that you shouldn’t use your own makeup products. Think of it this way… you can’t really infect yourself. The danger comes from sharing makeup products. Even if the risk is low, it is there.
So bottom line, we don’t need to spend time worrying. We do need to be aware though. For makeup enthusiasts who use their own products at home, not much will change. For makeup artists and celebrities who have their makeup done by someone else, there will be changes. Everyone might have to have their own set of makeup products (we can help you there!). As a cosmetics retailer, we will have to take precautions to protect our employees and our clients.
Everyone please stay safe. Whether you are on ECQ, MECQ or GCQ, playing with your makeup and taking photos is a great way to pass the time!
