Choosing The Right Makeup Remover - Your Skin Will Thank You!

Choosing The Right Makeup Remover - Your Skin Will Thank You!

I love makeup and the entire world of makeup.  That’s the reason that I got into this industry and started to create things that I wanted to see, formulating products that I knew that people would enjoy using.  Even though the industry is vast, there is plenty of space for new players and ideas.  I think that everybody bring something to the table.  When I launched the brand, I wanted to do that.

Even from early on, I wanted to address the fact that it was hard to find a good makeup remover that didn’t cause dryness.  Almost anybody that has worn makeup has tried a variety of different methods that range from creams and lotions to water based solutions and even things like baby wipes when we’re in a bit of a pinch.

Experience has told me that the best way to take care of your skin is to use one of the solutions that are water based.  This will cause the least amount of irritation to your skin.  If you consider that you wear your makeup all day, it would seem that this would be the most important factor when it comes to taking care of your skin.  That’s definitely important, but keep in mind that when you take your makeup off in the evening, the last thing you want to do is cause irritation.  It is crucial to have your skin hydrated and pampered.

When you read the list of ingredients for our Macynn Makeup Remover, you will see a number of familiar names, some not so familiar.  They sound nice, but what do they mean and what do they really do?  There were standard ingredients that are common to many makeup remover solutions.  Here I want to highlight three that are special; witch hazel, aloe vera and cucumber extracts.  I insisted that these be included in our formulation.

Witch hazel

This was an important ingredient to include because of its astringent properties (constriction of skin tissue).  At any age, it is important to take care of your skin and this skin tightening effect will help your skin to remain youthful looking.  It will also help to reduce the appearance of pores.  Witch hazel is often used on its own to treat a variety of skin issues including itching from bug bites, acne and even varicose veins.

Aloe Vera

This ingredient is probably much better known in the world.  For years, it has been used to treat issues like sunburn and skin irritations.  Many people will remember their mother keeping an Aloe Vera plant around the house for various uses.  We still have one, it is great to have handy just in case.  It works as a natural moisturizer and pain reliever.

Cucumber extracts

On the list of ingredients in the Macynn Makeup Remover, you will see Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract.  Some people don’t realize that this is the scientific name for cucumber extracts.  There is a reason why you see the best spas using fresh cucumber on the skin.  Like witch hazel, it acts as an astringent.  It also reduces puffiness in the skin.  It is a natural emollient, hydrating the skin and soothing it.

It is vital to choose makeup products that care for your skin. When these products are in contact with the skin on your face, which is often more sensitive than skin on other parts of your body, it is crucial that you are not doing any damage.  Don’t forget to continue caring for your skin when you go to remove that makeup… the right makeup remover will leave your skin feeling fresh and moisturized.  I went through many versions of the formula for this one before I was finally happy with one.  The result is the Macynn Cosmetics Makeup Remover.
